SuperMRO partners with Camfil: Air filtration for industry and critical environments

SuperMRO has become a Camfil partner for industrial filtration products and solutions. The partnership broadens options for customers seeking cleaner air, contamination control and more reliable operation. Each application starts with identifying the contaminants, operating conditions and requirements of the area to be protected.

Camfil and its product portfolio

Camfil has developed clean-air solutions since 1963. Its portfolio covers ventilation filters, high-efficiency filtration, molecular contamination control, turbomachinery intake filtration and dust, fume and mist collection. Here, filtration refers primarily to air and contaminants in gas streams. Airborne oil mist is a different application from filtration of liquid lubricating oil.

Solutions by industry

Thermal power: intake air and equipment areas

For gas turbine plants, suitable intake filtration helps limit contamination reaching the compressor. In coal-fired and steam-cycle plants, applications may include control-room and electrical-room ventilation, compressor intake air and local dust collection. Gas turbine filters are not steam turbine filters, and ventilation filtration does not replace boiler flue-gas treatment.

Cleanrooms: particle control where it matters

In pharmaceuticals, medical devices and electronics, Megalam HEPA/ULPA filters can work with prefilters, AHUs, terminal housings or FFUs. Selection depends on the target cleanliness, airflow and installation. Room performance also depends on sealing, air distribution, filter leak tests and system qualification.

Hospitals & healthcare: match filtration to room function

Operating theaters, intensive care areas and clinical spaces have different requirements. Ventilation filters and HEPA filtration where specified help control airborne particles and support care environments and equipment protection. Selection must align with ventilation, pressure relationships and the facility’s infection-control procedures.

Data centers: particles and corrosive gases

Dust can collect on equipment and restrict cooling; gaseous contaminants can corrode components. Ventilation particle filters and molecular filtration when justified by assessment provide complementary protection. Cleanliness, airflow and pressure drop must be balanced with cooling requirements.

Refining & petrochemicals: combined contamination control

Gas turbines, compressors and control rooms may encounter dust, salt aerosols and corrosive gases, depending on location. Intake filtration and CamCarb/CamPure solutions can be considered for individual air streams. Gas composition, temperature, humidity and safety requirements determine suitable media and configurations.

Cement: assess each dust source

Transfer points, material handling and bagging require assessment of dust load, particle size and abrasion before selecting collection equipment. Ventilation filters can also protect electrical and control rooms. Collector selection is site-specific; cartridge filters should not be assumed suitable for hot kiln exhaust.

Performance and life-cycle cost

Purchase price is only part of the cost. Consider filtration performance, operating pressure drop, fan energy, service life, replacement intervals and downtime. HEPA/ULPA selection requires the specified filter class and testing requirements; molecular filtration needs gas species, concentrations and contact time. Savings must be evaluated using actual operating data.

SuperMRO: starting with your operating needs

SuperMRO can clarify requirements, compare configurations, supply suitable Camfil products and coordinate manufacturer technical support when needed. Start with photos or existing filter codes, dimensions, airflow, pressure drop, temperature, humidity and target contaminants. These inputs support an appropriate replacement or upgrade plan, installation and maintenance.
